The period of steady yet strong growth in the city of Lorain can be attributed to a variety of factors. Perhaps one of the most crucial components is the city's waterfront. Location is everything, and Lorain Port and Finance Authority, 319 Black River Lane in downtown Lorain, is working to make the city's waterfront as functional as possible. Tom Brown, executive director of the Lorain Port and Finance Authority , said the agency has a wide-reaching impact on the city itself. 'The port authorities in Ohio were created by Ohio Revised Code,' Brown said.
